Robert Grillo leads a culturally diverse division of over 300 IT professionals. His passion for leading FIU’s Division of IT is fueled by a commitment to delivering the most innovative technological advancements to the university community. Under his leadership over the last 13 years, FIU has grown its technological infrastructure to support the growing needs of over 65,000 students, faculty, researchers, and staff. Prior to FlU, Robert led the consulting division for Oracle/PeopleSoft Latin America and Caribbean. Robert also worked for Andersen Consulting LLP (currently known as Accenture) as a senior consultant for Fortune 500 companies.
Sha Edathumparampil serves as Chief Digital & Information Officer at Baptist Health South Florida. He leads the organization's technology strategy, digital innovation, AI initiatives, data analytics, cybersecurity, and electronic health records. He has driven the modernization of core technology infrastructure and business systems, launched the award-winning PineApp digital front door to improve patient access and experience, significantly expanded data analytics capabilities, and integrated AI into clinical and operational workflows to support personalized care and efficiency. Most recently, he led the selection and planning for Epic as Baptist Health South Florida’s new enterprise electronic health record system, a multi-year implementation project designed to enhance patient care, clinician experience, and operational performance.
Matt Hagood is a technology professional who is a consensus builder and leads multiple university initiatives to optimize and improve classroom technology, ed-tech and event support at FIU. Matt began his career in sports marketing and entertainment with the Florida Marlins overseeing game presentation. He then served as the Associate Director of Instructional Technology at Florida Atlantic University, before joining FIU in 2012.
Matt is currently also the Co-Chair of the Technology Evaluation Group and oversees the FIU EdIT Conference.
Stephen has worked in the education technology space for over ten years. In his career, he has pushed for institutional audio-video technology design standards and enterprise-level audio-video technologies. Currently, Stephen is the director of MTS in the Division of IT. In his current role, he aims to implement classroom technologies that enhance the teaching experience while maintaining ease of use.
Dr. Tiffany Paschal is a passionate educator and leader committed to empowering others, advancing learning opportunities, and fostering ethical leadership in education.
Katherine Bandy is the Instructional Design Manager at St. Thomas University. With experience in China and the U.S., she focuses on innovating instructional design for student success, AI’s role in education, and faculty collaboration.
Omar Delgado, Director of Educational Technology and Learning Development, guides teachers and students with practical solutions, supports creative digital learning, and shapes classrooms with thoughtful tech that improves daily work for everyone.
Dr. Tracy Weeks is an education policy leader and EdTech executive. She leads Education Policy Strategy at Instructure and has held senior roles at Securly, Microsoft, SETDA, and NC DPI, shaping digital learning policy nationwide.
Dr. Jorge Zumaeta is a Sr. Director at FIU, Fulbright Scholar in Economics and CAMACOL/SEDC member with 20+ years of experience advancing workforce, business, and socio-economic development through innovative educational practices and data-driven policy research.
Maikel Right is the Associate Director of Instructional Learning Technology where he manages FIU Online’s Learning Design Innovation team and a faculty fellow with FIU’s Honors and Liberal Studies college’s teaching online, hybrid, and face-to-face.
Dr. Otis Kopp is a marketing professor at FIU whose work explores AI anxiety and imposter syndrome. With nearly two decades of industry experience, he focuses on equipping both students and professionals to use AI ethically and strategically.
